Repeat Business

It’s that time of year again! I don’t mean trimming the tree, spinning the dreidel or trying to cram in those interminable holiday parties. No, I’m talking about a relatively new tradition: the “midseason finale” of all your favorite shows. I’m actually watching the one for The Flash while I write this blog. They’re not holiday-themed shows (though some are) but there’s a real effort to make the episodes impactful- often with a cliffhanger or major event happening to tide you over until your favorite (or not so favorite) shows return some time in 2016.
Now, I could say that the strip you’re reading is our mid-season finale, but we don’t have a season…we’ll be making this comic year-round! As a matter of fact, we have another comic next week. And that one won’t be our mid-season finale, either! Though it could almost be thought of one…but you’ll just have to wait until next week to find that out for yourself.
On an unrelated note…have you seen the trailer for SyFy’s “The Magicians?” It looks pretty good and I really hope that the show turns out as good as the trailer. I really enjoyed the books, and if you haven’t read them yet, I highly recommend checking them out.

I was thinking about sisterhood while drawing the comic and how my relationship with my older sister has changed over the years. We did have the kick-each-other-under-the-table phase which ended when she headed off to college. When she visited home while at uni we no longer had the same strange camaraderie one gets when facing parents. It wasn’t until we moved into our house together after I finished university that the bond returned. I look forward to seeing how Alanthia and Judy’s relationship bond holds up in the future when they face whatever trials and tribulations Paul throws at them. |
